The White Maze

The White Maze

Freeskiers Matthias "Hauni" Haunholder and Matthias Mayr spent a year planning to ski the highest peak of Eastern Siberia, Gora Pobeda. The Chersky Mountain Range, seen from above, appeared as a daunting White Maze. Gora Pobeda is not only steep and icy but also extremely remote, with the nearest village 350 km away and the closest helicopter and hospital 1300 km distant. In temperatures dropping below -60°C, their small team faces a narrow time window for ascent and descent. Relying on a nomadic family for support, they embark on this seemingly impossible mission.
