La Haute Route Himalayenne

La Haute Route Himalayenne

Nicolas Bossard has succeeded in crossing the high Himalayan chain on foot and by himself which is unique in the world! Departing from the Indian Sikkim in the east of Nepal, he crosses one of the most difficult regions to access in the world alone: Eastern Nepal. In total autonomy, Nicolas carries his whole “house” on his back, a tent, stove, clothes, food, a total of around 35 kilos. At the foot of Makalu, the 5th highest mountain in the world, he finds a compatriot and two Nepalese friends to cross the high glaciers which will lead them to the foot of Everest. Once this obstacle has been overcome, the adventurer continues his long journey westward alone, crossing glaciers, high passes, torrents and isolated regions. Once he enters India he is affected by the Monsoon and its torrential rains. Nicolas goes through hell while he continues the ascent towards Ladakh. It is at the top of Stok Kangri, a 6155m peak overlooking the city of Leh, where he finally ends his 6-month journey.
